Every December, offices across Nigeria start to feel different. Targets are closing, appraisals are due, and somewhere in the building someone asks the question everybody has been waiting for: "Where are we going for the retreat this year?"
For most staff, the annual retreat is the reward at the end of a long year. It is a few days away from the desk to rest, laugh with colleagues, look back on what worked and plan for the year ahead. For the HR manager or admin officer who has to organise it, the story is often very different. They spend weeks calling hotels, chasing bus companies, haggling with caterers, printing banners and counting gift items, all while closing the year's appraisals and payroll. By the time the team arrives at the venue, the person who planned everything is too tired to enjoy any of it.
Traction Outsourcing Limited wants to take that weight off your team.
Applications Are Now Open
Traction Outsourcing Limited is now accepting applications from companies that want us to plan and run their annual corporate retreat. This season's window runs from December 2026 to January 2027. Because the season is short and good venues fill up quickly around Christmas and the New Year, we can only take on a limited number of companies.
A corporate retreat is a planned period, usually two to five days, when a company takes its staff or leadership team away from the normal work environment. The change of setting matters. People think more clearly when they are away from ringing phones and daily pressure, and they talk more openly when they share meals, games and long evenings together. A good retreat mixes four things: rest, reflection on the past year, planning for the new one, and recognition of the people who made the year work.
What We Handle for You, From Start to Finish
When you work with Traction Outsourcing Limited, you tell us what you want the retreat to achieve, how many people are coming and what your budget looks like. From there, we take care of the operations end to end.
Planning and logistics. We arrange how your people get there and back, where they sleep and what they eat. That includes flights or road transport, airport and hotel pickups, room allocation, meals, security and a clear schedule for every day. Your staff receive one simple travel brief, and nobody is left standing at the airport wondering who is coming to pick them up.
Location setup. We find and book the venue, then prepare it for your programme. Halls are arranged for sessions, outdoor spaces are set for games and dinners, and sound, lighting, screens and décor are tested before your team arrives.
Branding. Your company's identity runs through the whole event. We produce backdrops, banners, roll-up stands, name tags, branded T-shirts and signage in your colours, so the retreat looks and feels like yours.
Content management. A retreat without a clear programme quickly turns into an expensive holiday. We design the agenda with you, line up the sessions, brief every facilitator on your goals, prepare workbooks and handouts, and keep a minute-by-minute run sheet so each session starts and ends on time.
Award compilation. Recognition is one of the most remembered parts of any retreat. We help you set award categories, run staff nominations and voting where you want them, compile the results, produce the plaques and certificates, and host the award night.
Gift boxes. We source, pack and brand gift boxes for staff, guests and speakers. Each box is shaped around your budget and your culture, from local snacks and wellness items to branded notebooks, flasks and keepsakes.
Media management. Our media team covers the retreat with photography and video, handles live social media posts if you want them, and delivers an edited photo album and a short recap video after the event.
On-site coordination. A Traction Outsourcing team stays with you from the first arrival to the last departure. If a bus is late or a flight is delayed, we handle it quickly and quietly.
Post-retreat report. After the retreat, you receive a report with attendance, staff feedback, key decisions and action points from each session. This helps leadership turn the conversations from the retreat into work that actually happens in the new year.
How Your Company Benefits
Reduced cost. A company that plans its own retreat deals with ten or more vendors separately: hotel, transport, catering, printing, décor, sound, photography, gifts and more. Each quotes its own price, and extras add up quickly. With one coordinator managing all of them, you get negotiated rates, one budget to track and fewer surprise bills at the end.
A wide range of trainers. Through our consulting and recruitment work, we have built a network of facilitators across many areas, including leadership, teamwork, sales, customer service, emotional intelligence, financial wellness and staff wellbeing. We match the trainers to the goals you set, so your sessions speak to the real challenges your team faces.
Industry leaders and professionals from West and Central Africa. Your team can hear from experienced business leaders, HR practitioners, founders and specialists from Nigeria and neighbouring countries. Advice from someone who has solved a problem in a similar market often lands better than another lecture from a textbook.
Your HR team gets to attend. The people who usually carry the planning can finally sit in the sessions, join the games and enjoy the award night like everyone else.
A retreat connected to your people goals. Traction Outsourcing Limited is an HR and management consulting firm, and we look at your retreat through that lens. We think about engagement, retention, culture and performance when we shape the programme, so the fun has a purpose behind it.
Choose Your Destination
You can hold your retreat in any of these Nigerian locations: Lagos, Abuja, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, Ogun, Ondo, Cross River, Bayelsa, Delta and Edo.
Coast and waterside. Lagos, Bayelsa, Delta and Cross River offer beach resorts, riverside venues and creek views. Calabar and the Obudu Mountain Resort in Cross River are among the best-known retreat spots in the country.
Hills and nature. Nasarawa, Ondo, Enugu and Kaduna offer cooler air, green hills and quiet resorts for teams that want space to think.
City and culture. Abuja, Ibadan, Ogun and Edo combine good hotels and conference halls with history and heritage, from Olumo Rock in Abeokuta to the ancient city of Benin.
For companies that want to travel beyond Nigeria, we also offer destinations in Ghana, Cameroon and Togo. Your team can enjoy the coast of Accra and the hills of Aburi, the black sand beaches of Limbe, or the calm seafront of Lomé.
